Community Giving

Giving Back

Christ Church of Peace is a non-denominational church, and as such do not have the commitment of tithe back to a greater body, instead we choose to give back to our community. Each month a group in Jacksonville is selected to receive a donation from our church. We are proud to have provided support to more than 40 different organizations through out North Florida. In addition, our regular giving projects include:

CCOP Food Bank

CCOP has a community food bank and helps families nearly every day with emergency food and toiletries. In just the first half of 2006, we have made provisions for more than 150 individuals and families asking for help.

HabiJax & Clean it Up Green it Up

Helping our community is important and the Jacksonville based programs like HabiJax and Clean it Up, Green it Up can always use support to help them with their missions. We are proud that our congregation has been a part of building new a new home and helping clean the streets of our city. 
 

Holiday Helpers

Holiday Helpers an organization independent of Christ Church of Peace that collects toys and gifts each Christmas for children that have been infected or affected by AIDS and HIV. Christ Church of Peace plays home to the Holiday Helpers Christmas Party. And for the last several years we have helped through donation of gifts, volunteers and space for the children of Jacksonville.

PFLAG

The Jacksonville Chapter of Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays is a part of the National PFLAG association. For the last several years, CCOP has supported the local PFLAG Scholarship program that provides College Scholarships to out LGBT individuals.  Christ Church of Peace pledges $1,200 per year to this program.
