On behalf of the residents
and staff of Riverside Park
Apartments I want to thank
you, for a generous donation
given to our food pantry.
Many of the residents in
need found something to get
them through. Thanks again
for your support.

The Liturgical Calendar
Most of the major mainline
denominations follow the Liturgical Calendar
or Lectionary. This
Lectionary has 3 yearly cycles of readings
taken
from the old testament, new
testament, and gospels. Referred to as Years
A,B and C. We are in year A,
currently.
This is used as a guide to
keep all churches in step as to what to
preach
and is generally used to
help keep some uniformity in Christian
teachings in
general, regardless of the
denomination. Although each denomination may
have it’s own particular
view on certain passages the general
overarching
themes are kept in order.
The Lectionary year starts
in November with Advent, right after
Thanksgiving. The theme and
scriptures deal with the foretelling of the
birth of Christ. Then there
is Christmastide starting with Christmas and
the 2-3 Sundays following.
Epiphany follows, then the Season of Lent,
followed
by Holy Week and Easter,
Then Pentecost Sunday signifies the
beginning
of Kingdom tide or the
season after Pentecost. Each Season gets it
own
colors of Altar vestments
which are rich in meaning as well. No Church
is
locked into using it, but it
is a great guide and good help when needing
inspiration
or ideas for sermons at
times. -

Congregational Meeting April
13th
After Church
This meeting is for voting
on the Interim Pastor. This
person will be our Pastor
for a time selected by the MOT until
we acquire a full time
pastor. The search for a full time
pastor will require faithful
prayer, support, and giving.
The Interim Pastor will be
considered a candidate for
this position.
Saturday the 12th there will
be a meet and greet for the
membership of CCOP to get to
know the candidate moving
forward for consideration.
Please note that only members of
CCOP will be allowed to
vote. This does not mean that we
do not value input from our
supporters and friends. Thanks
to all who have supported us
through this time of transition.
We are here to stay and we
plan to keep it that way.
